Child #10, Daniel, died and was baptized on 1 Nov 1898 by brother, Thomas, and was ordained an Elder by Bro. Lishman. On 2 Nov 1898 was married and sealed to Emma Freestone through Thomas as proxy.

Briscoe, Ruth (b. 1 Oct 1868, d. 1 Aug 1935)

Note: The family story is that Ruth and one of her sisters immigrated to America and traveled west to join the Saints together before the rest of the family. They were to work and earn money to bring the rest of the family to Utah.

Ruth died of cancer.

Welker, Charles Wesley (b. 4 May 1859, d. 6 Oct 1939)

Note: The baptism of 18 Jan 1885 listed for Charles Wesley Welker is a rebaptismal date. Rebaptism was not uncommon in the earlier days of the Church. He was also rebaptized and ordained and Elder 27 May 1877.

Charles was sealed only to Logenia Olson 29 Jan 1885. They were not married and no stories of her are known to me.

The oral history indicates that Charles was married to both Ruth Briscoe and Margaret Ann Ward at the same time. This seems to mean a plural marriage, although it has also been said that Margaret either left or divorced Charles and took her children with her. She is said to have been very bitter over the marital situation. Charles continued to support the children even after they were no longer together.
